How we started.
Helen and Tom Rhodes are the proud founders of Ocelot Fire Consultancy.
Fire safety has been an integral part of their lives since childhood, inspired by their father, who dedicated his career to firefighting. His commitment to keeping people safe from fires left a lasting impact on both Tom and Helen.
Tom joined the fire service in 2006, following in his father's footsteps. For 12 years, he worked in the Prevention team across West Yorkshire with his last role as the District Prevention Manager for Bradford. He was responsible for developing and implementing the fire prevention strategy, which included identifying and assisting high-risk individuals, conducting risk assessments and delivering proactive fire prevention programs for Bradford.
Helen spent 30 years as a project manager in the construction industry, and then joined the Fire & Rescue Service as a Fire Prevention Advisor. She obtained several fire safety qualifications and built her skills and knowledge to become competent fire safety professional.
Tom later moved into the NHS, working at Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust as their fire officer. He specialised in fire safety precautions in acute mental health settings and community-based sites.
Helen and Tom often collaborated on various projects throughout their careers, sharing ideas and strategies to enhance fire safety measures. Their close bond and complementary skills made them a formidable team.
In 2022, Helen and Tom officially joined forces to create Ocelot Fire Consultancy, leveraging their knowledge to provide comprehensive fire safety services to their clients.
